STITCHES.....

I got a phone call from Lincoln's school on Tues, It was his principal. The message she left said that Lincoln had hit his head and had a pretty big gash, and that I needed to come get him! As I drove to the school I thought of how quickly life can change. Of course It never crossed my mind that one of my kids would get really hurt at school, you always think they are safe. I felt so bad for him, he had hit his head on a metal stair railing while walking out during the fire drill. Anyone who knows Lincoln can absolutely see this as a possibility! He has what we like to call the "Dunn" speed which is short for no speed at all! By the way I did not inherit this speed thanks to my mom's side of the family! Poor Lincoln his shirt was covered in blood, with towels drenched also. It broke my heart when I saw him sitting there. He held it together until we got into the car and then he decided to cry. He is such a strong boy. He laid in the hospital with not a tear or a flinch as they numbed and stitched him. Had this been Addy or the twins we would have had to put a straight jacket on them. He is one tough boy!! It makes you appreciate having healthy kids and never taking anything for granted!!

~YANKEES~

This weekend Matt and his Dad had an opportunity to go see the Yankees play. This is the last season they will be playing in this stadium so it was great for them to see them play here one last time- They had great seats, second row, and a perfect New York day!!! The Yankees pulled it off in the 9th inning... Addy and I watched to see if we could see Daddy and "Boppa" in the stands! Matt brought the kids home shirts and hats... bright and early the next morning they got their baseball gear on and put some bases out to play! Lincoln was happy to say the Yankees won the world series that morning... if only that could be possible this year!!!
walking into the stadium to their seats. They did a lot of eating this day, first fried dough in "little Italy" and then on to Soho for a nice dinner!

A BOY AND HIS "MONSTER" TRUCK~

My little boys LOVE trucks! Jack has his favorite truck which he calls "me monster truck!" He brings it in the car, up and down the stairs and even in his bed! Of course it happens to be the biggest truck we have! He loves this picture, every time he sees it he screams "look there is me monster truck in me bed"!! I love it~ Both boys are going to a 2 year old program that Lincoln and Addy did also. It is 2 days a week for 2 hours. They have not started yet, but they need a picture of themselves to put where they hang their bags. These are some of the ones we took. They can not wait to go, every time we pass the school they say "There's me school!" Also their teachers names are Mrs. Schwarz and Mrs Whiteside- They call them "Mrs. Shorts and Mrs. Whiteshorts!" They say the cutest things right now, I love hearing their conversations- Although Spencer has decided he likes using a lot of potty words at age 2... we are in trouble with that little guy!

~ And then there were two........

I guess you could say I have half of an empty nest now! Addy started her pre k today, which leaves me with the twins for two hours a day- She was very excited to go, which is a huge relief because we made the decision not to send her to kindergarten this year. She said her teacher is very nice, but when I asked her if she knew any of the kids names she said no!!! She is not quite as chatty as Lincoln about her day, so hopefully we can get some more details out of her soon! walking up to school.....
outside the playground, wondering if it is safe to let these two terrors near the building!!!

Off to 2nd Grade~

My baby was off to 2nd grade today.... It seems unreal that my little chubby cheeked rolly polly boy is now long and lean and getting on a bus!! We miss Linc when he is gone. He can be such a help entertaining boys, or helping me get lunches ready! He only knows a couple of kids this year in his class so he is excited to make new friends, and sad to not be with others. We decided to give Addy one more year before putting her in kindergarten, she has a later birthday and we think she will adjust easier being older. Lincoln was very sad that she was not coming with him, He said "but Mommy I wanted to take care of her!" He always tries to make her feel comfortable and include her in new situations. He is a very special boy!!! Every year Lincoln gets his heart shaped pancakes before boarding the bus on the first day! We love you Linc!!!

The end of summer....

We decided to have a final mini vacation before the craziness of school etc begins... We headed to Niagara Falls and to the African Safari in Canada. Part of the Safari is just driving your car through the "jungle" to see the wild animals! The kids loved it because they could get out of their seats while we were driving. Addy was a little tense when Lincoln read the signs to her that said "dangerous animals please lock your doors and keep your window's up!" This is the kids in the back of the car looking out for the wild animals! These baboons were hilarious they got on peoples car and rode through the park!
Twice a day the elephants march through the streets to go for a swim- The kids loved seeing them hold onto each others tails and walk right by us!
This is Jack annoyed with the rocks in his crocs!!!
Niagara falls on the American side.....

Lincoln kept asking if he could swim in this water... He really is going to give me premature grey hair!!!! This is the view from our hotel room, the steam in the air is where the falls are... The kids loved standing in the windows looking out, I stayed away from that view!! We had a suite with a big jacuzzi tub in our room by this window.. they had several baths in that spot!
There was a petting zoo at the African Safari. We nicknamed Lincoln "the goat whisperer" because they all loved him! They especially liked chewing his shirt and his shoes!
Yes this is Matt, Lincoln and Jack riding an elephant!!! Addy was almost brave enough, she got all the way to the front of the line and then decided against it! You had to have an adult for each toddler so Spencer was stuck with Addy and I watching~ He did not seem to mind!
